SENTINEL

Season: Crescendo

Events: Katy and Fort Worth

Off-season Events: Texas Robotics Invitational and The Remix

  • Pancake the Testbed: We created a robot called Pancake with a special type of drive called a "swerve chassis." This let us practice and perfect a super-powerful drive system using all NEO motors.
  • Sentinel the Star: All that hard work paid off when we built our competition robot, Sentinel, with the perfected swerve drive!
  • AI Superpowers! We used a special camera and computer to give Sentinel "eyes" and "brains," letting it figure out exactly where it was on the field. This is called localization, and we used some really advanced AI to do it.
  • VSLAM Magic: We even used a cutting-edge technology called VSLAM (it stands for Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) which is like giving the robot a super detailed map of its surroundings. We were one of the first in FRC to do this!
  • Super Accurate Shots: With all its advanced technology, Sentinel could move around the field and shoot really accurately from almost anywhere!
